August Heat Is Back

By Greg Tatro @yourmetgreg August 22, 2014 10:31 am CDT

The dog days of summer took longer than usual appear, but they have finally arrived.  Much of the country has experienced a cooler than normal summer with comfortable conditions, but those conditions are taking a vacation for the upcoming weekend.

Heat advisories are in effect for most of the weekend in the central and southern parts of the country.  Heat index values could be in the 100-110 range.  Take the proper precautions if you will be outdoors by taking frequent breaks and drinking plenty of water.  The heat wave doesn't look to last long as cooler temps and lower humidity values should return by early next week.
