US Weather Spotlight: 12-11-18

System that has bee affecting the southeast moves away from the region early today with precipitation chances diminishing.

A weak low pressure system builds into New England today bringing increasing snow shower chances to the region though not much accumulation is expected mainly a dusting up to an inch in some areas.  

Trough of low pressure moves through the Dakotas today and into the Midwest tonight with snow shower chances spreading across the Dakotas and into northwest MN, and some freezing drizzle could mix in at times. Wintry precipitation chance increase overnight tonight in southeast MN, northeast IA, southwest WI, and northwest IL near a surface low. All these areas will chance a chance of up to an inch of snow by Wednesday morning.  

The biggest headline today will be a storm affecting the northwest producing rain, snow, and wind. Areas in the WA Cascades could get 1 to 2 feet by Wednesday morning. Further east 6-12 inches will be possible in higher elevations of eastern ID and western MT.
