The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM to 7 PM CDT Tuesday.
The Lake Wind Advisory cover all of southeast Missouri and
southern Illinois, as well as the Purchase area of West Kentucky
to the Land Between the Lakes. A few counties along the Wabash and
Ohio Rivers bordering Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky are also
included in the Advisory.
* TIMING...1 pm CDT to 7 pm CDT.
* WINDS...Sustained 15 mph with occasional gusts to 25 mph or
higher, especially along and west of the Mississippi River.
* IMPACTS...Small water craft may encounter choppy waters. Winds
from approaching thunderstorms over Southeast Missouri may
increase winds on waterways during the late afternoon.
A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
