Setting up to be a very active weather day today as we expect a wide range of weather conditions spanning from the eastern portions of the Upper Midwest, stretching to and along the East Coast. The system begins in Maine and goes south and southwestward towards parts of Alabama and Mississippi.
The first feature we'd like to focus on is the Upper Midwest and Upper Northeast Coast, which currently has a winter weather advisory spanning from parts of Missouri, and spreads east all the way to Vermont. In some areas along that advisory, there is also embedded winter storm warnings and ice storm warnings.
Heading further south along the coast, heavy rains are possible with this system down through Georgia. Also, a freeze warning is possible in areas west of the heavy rainfall.
The low pressure system causing this is over Maine right now and will slowly make it's way northeast out of the country by Friday morning. Conditions will slowly normalize throughout the day tomorrow.
