A little more about Jennifer...
Jennifer Wojcicki was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. After a childhood fascination with tornadoes, she attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and obtained her B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences. While attending the university, Jennifer interned at WCIA-TV and became the first weather intern to do a live broadcast for the station. Shortly after, she was hired at WCIA and fell in love with weather-story telling. She loves the diverse weather of the Midwest and says that everyday is a learning experience in the growing field of meteorology.
When you were younger what did you want to be? I wanted to be a meteorologist ever since my 6th grade tornado diorama project (cotton balls and a grey marker can go a long way!). Storms used to terrify me when I was younger and I wanted to understand what made them so powerful.
Favorite Vacation Spot? On any cruise to any destination! I’m up for exploring new places!
Favorite Subject in School? If we're counting all subjects, then my favorite was choir. My science nerdiness is well paired with my passion for singing within a choral. My high school chamber choir hosted some of my most favorite memories, including trips to Disney World and NYC, as well as caroling at an IHOP in hopes of getting a free meal.
What superpower would you chose to have? I would love to have the ability to fly. There's something freeing in the idea of being able to defy gravity and I think it would be exhilarating.
